Simon's thoughts on today's commercial property market
Following the tumultuous period marked by the uncertainties of Covid-19, Brexit, and the recent cost-of-living crisis, Jersey's commercial property sector is once again demonstrating its resilience. Despite the challenges, enquiry and requirement levels in the office market remain robust, primarily propelled by the buoyancy of the finance sector.
Jersey’s retail sector remains in a state of flux as many high street multiples continuing to struggle with reduced consumer spending and the persistent competition posed by online shopping. However, on a positive note, it is encouraging to see a number of local independent businesses stepping in to fill some of the vacant premises in St Helier town centre.
